Painter in Brno-Kohoutovice: painting and decorative plaster
Painter in Brno-Kohoutovice: we prepare walls after a flat renovation, paint a flat on the estate or a family house, and offer decorative finishes. We prepare the quote after a free visit.
After a flat renovation
Kohoutovice is a city district with an estate and family houses. Jobs here often start after a flat renovation: walls after new wiring, moved partitions or a removed bathroom unit have to be repaired and levelled before they can be painted. A well-prepared wall saves problems in the next steps.
Skim coating, filling and painting
One of the main steps is full-surface skim coating. One coat costs from 150 CZK/m², two coats from 250 CZK/m². The wall is then sanded (from 30 CZK/m²), primed (from 20 CZK/m²) and painted, in white from 40 CZK/m² or in coloured shades from 50 CZK/m². In a kitchen and bathroom a washable finish from 65 CZK/m² pays off. You will find all the steps on the wall preparation page.
A wall as an ornament
After a renovation is often the best moment to choose a striking finish. A concrete effect from 1 200 CZK/m² and travertine from 1 500 CZK/m² suit a living room, dining room and hallway. A decorative skim coat from 650 CZK/m² or wallpaper from 150 CZK/m² is enough for a single wall. We can try the specific shade on a sample.
What not to forget after a renovation
After a renovation it is worth checking the area around windows and doors, corners and the transitions between old and new plaster. That is exactly where small cracks like to appear, and they would show after painting. Crack repairs are priced by extent, and filling unevenness is from 80 CZK/m². A well-prepared base lasts longer without visible joints.
Choosing a finish
A sample on the wall helps when choosing a finish. Travertine looks warm in yellower light, while a concrete effect stands out beside cooler furniture colours. You can look at the sample by day and in the evening and only then decide on the whole area. For a single wall a cheaper option also pays off, for example a decorative paint finish from 690 CZK/m² or a basic skim coat from 650 CZK/m². If you are unsure how bold a finish suits your flat, we will advise during the visit and list the options with prices.
Arranging it
If the building work is not yet finished, arrange a visit in advance so that the trades follow on without needless waiting. Write or call, describe the condition of the flat and send photos. Guide prices are in the price list and an overall overview is on the Painter in Brno page.

Answers to common questions
Frequently asked questions
When do you start painting after a flat renovation?
Only after the dirty work is finished, that is demolition, plastering and wiring. After that the walls are repaired, levelled and primed. Only on a wall prepared like this do we paint. We discuss the timing during the visit, and if the building work is still going on, we arrange the date so that the trades follow on from one another and do not wait unnecessarily.
How much does skim coating walls after a renovation cost?
Full-surface skim coating is from 150 CZK/m² in one coat and from 250 CZK/m² in two coats. Sanding follows from 30 CZK/m², priming from 20 CZK/m² and painting. We determine how many coats the wall needs from its condition during the visit. The final price then comes from the itemised breakdown you receive in the quote.
Are travertine or a concrete effect suitable for a kitchen?
Yes, travertine (from 1 500 CZK/m²) and concrete effect (from 1 200 CZK/m²) are also done in kitchens, for example on the wall between the cabinets and the dining table. It is important to choose a suitable protective coating according to where the wall is and what hits it, for example water or grease. We discuss the details during the visit and make a sample directly on the wall.
